About Me

Who are YOU?
I am Jeoffrey Batangan. I am a 5th year undergrad pursuing a BS in Visual Communications. I am a Filipino American Christian originally from Santa Clara, CA. Currently I am president of an on-campus organization called Koinonia and we provide a safe and open place where students at SFSU can investigate Christianity and the Bible through analysis and critical thinking. On top of that, I aspire to be a graphic designer with web and print background and hope to manage a design studio in the public sect.

What Inspires or ”WOWs” YOU?
I find inspiration from photography and browsing the web for latest visual graphic design trends. Functional and clean web design also wows me. Main inspiration actually comes from my friends (and their needs). I learn more about them each passing day and it always surprises me.

Who, or What are your influences?
My identity as a Christian and knowing what boundaries I will not cross. My mother is also a huge influence in my life because she immigrated to the States from the Philippines right when she was about to get her degree in accounting. Sheʼs worked hard ever since I was born, tackling 3 jobs at one point.

What is your Vision or HOPE in your lifetime?

1. Academically – I want to learn many areas of design and eventually move into product design later in the future. There are so many tools available.

2. Professionally – being able to manage many blogs at one time, while running a design studio out in another country/continent, such as Taiwan or Australia.

3. Socially – breaking barriers in regards to Christianity so others can see what it really is about rather than what media has already portrayed for them. I also want to rise up against the value system of the media.

Provide Six “Key Words” that best describe YOU:
  • Clumsy
  • Enthusiastic,
  • Generous
  • Inquisitive
  • Bold
  • Forward.
